Thursday 24th September - Marden Primary Academy, Herefordshire Circus show for 20 something pupils. Thursday 13th August - The Opportunities Centre, Wrexham, Wales Family fun day for local estate. Nice doing all these outdoor workshops in the summer. Wednesday 29th July - Autism West Midlands, West Bromwich Community Centre. They still all had a great time and tried the 20p tightrope challenge and 20p thirty second hula hoop challenge.'Epic' is how one brownie described the evening. Must get more tarpaulins to cover bikes and equipment tables. Kids reemerged at 20 to 7 and played till nearly 8 in fading light! Wednesday 1st July - Eckington Camm's Primary School, Derbyshire Circus workshops for infant classes. In retrospect will not do that in future as performance skills a bit much at their age. Lady who booked me up given round of applause by participants! Regular showers which meant covering tightrope trampolines with tarpaulins. Squashed in amongst loads of bouncy castles and other fairground attractions. Hall a bit small so dressing up in library and ezyrollers and jack in the box table outside. Leaders very helpful in removing and setting up chairs in congregation part of church hall. Tuesday 7th November - Circus Performer Badge, Selly Oak Brownies, Birmingham'Light up Lansdown' - the annual fireworks display at Bath Racecourse. Lovely area for my circus skills outside owners and trainers pavilion. Getting leaders up together for toothbrush twirling and balloon modelling practice worked well. Sunday 28th June - The Moreton Arms(Pub), Wolverhampton Lovely Sunny afternoon. Surface a bit hard so best not to use this venue in future. Tightrope, hula hooping, didicars, stiltwalking clown clothes and wigs etc. Might need extra green stilts as youngsters predominate in these groups. Toothbrush twirling, 2 bean bag trick and 3-twist balloon modelling. Sunday 3rd September - Alfreton Party in the Park, Derbyshire Placed in the middle of the event this year. At lunch retrieved one lad from 'behaviour room' to show off his unicycling skills to staff and pupils. Tuesday 30th June - Eckington Camm's Primary School, Derbyshire Circus workshops for junior classes. Hands free stiltwalking so successful am lending 2 pairs of stilts trousers for their upcoming musical. One lad with cerebral palsy enjoyed the winther funracer. Much amusement as scout leaders struggled on the circus bikes. Circus show circus workshop for each of morning and afternoon nursery. I joined the procession on my circus bike at start. Whizzing the carts downhill across playground popular too. Friday 17th July - Stoke Heath Primary School, Coventry, West Midlands Circus show for nursery & reception pupils. Staff loved taking part in final balloon balancing sketch.
Saturday 11th July - St Annes Primary School, Aldridge, West Midlands. Circus workshops for reception to year 4 pupils outside on the playground, on the grass and inside the marquee.
Tuesday 17th October - Youth Sandwell Launch day, West Bromwich Albion Community Sports Hall Provided a bit of a circus workshop in the midst of other stalls. Sunday 17th September - Chepstow Racecourse, Monmouthshire Big Welsh Car Show. Kids played with pop up bins after emptying equipment!
Mortar stands proves a success instead of cycle stands for leaning stilts up against. Took him and his dad to circus area to calm down and have a go. Important to get all leaders helping to pass skills on to girls. Finished off with balloon hats and flower bracelet. Provided circus workshop on lawn outside for their family fun day.
Hall a little small so carousels & minibikes outside in coned off section of playground. Tuesday 16th - Sunday 21st May - Danish Clown Convention, Svendborg, Denmark3 year 2 classes enjoyed a circus day. One little girl performed a simpler version of 2 little dickie birds. Staff said I should continue to do this as more accessible to little ones. Mostly older pupils enjoyed activities in a slightly small hall. She could easily learn to stiltwalk to participate in community events. Thursday 8th October - St Anne's Catholic Primary School, Wrexham, Wales Circus workshops for reception through year 6. Elizabeth enjoyed the pink ezroller best on her 7th birthday.
Autistic kids enjoyed participating as equals in the activity workshops in the morning. Tuesday 23rd May - Alvechurch Rainbows & Brownies, Alvechurch, Worcestershire Beautiful hall with stage to work in. Toothbrush twirling followed by free play for brownies. Great success of the day was using the carousels outside. Took along Build'n'Balance instead of tightrope to this playscheme. Minibikes and hand held stilts outside for KS2 pupils for more space. Waving and chatting to me after a very quiet start. I provided a circus workshop with a little magic and balloon modelling to start the day off. Tues 13th/Wed 14th October - Warren Special School, Lowestoft, Suffolk Lovely relaxed school to spend 2 days entertaining all the SLD/PMLD classes. Monday 12th October - St Saviour's Primary School, Talke, Staffordshire Circus show for nursery & reception pupils. The kids also joined in blowing up balloons and making them themselves. One girl on rebound roller in particular improved to sitting up whilst being wheeled around. Sunday 4th October - Circus Party, Bournville, Birmingham 3rd circus party for same family. Saturday 3rd October - Circus Party, Coalville, Leicestershire Long, narrow hall.
